This is the reason why it's newsworth ~

CDC H1N1 Flu

"It’s uncertain at this time how severe this novel H1N1 outbreak will be in terms of illness and death compared with other influenza viruses. Because this is a new virus, most people will not have immunity to it, and illness may be more severe and widespread as a result."

I don't know how it would not be newsworthy to report this sort of thing.

Oh, no. Does CD know yet?

I can't believe the virus would even consider infecting someone in CARY. <gasp>

WCPSS: H1N1 - Confirmed Case at Reedy Creek Middle School

I think ANY health concern is newsworthy.

I wonder where Carolina Cowboy is. He predicted this and that it would get much worse.

Well, I expected the responses I got! I still think it's not newsworthy. Not unless they are also going to report that Johnny got regular flu. It MIGHT turn into something else. If it does, then it will be newsworthy. Right now it's no more dangerous than the regular flu. Plenty of things MIGHT turn into something else.

It's all over the world, and it's not very dangerous at the moment. As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing new to add to this story. If it mutates, then it's worth reporting about.
