We bought some off brand for another room, and it's awful. The text in the "guide" is so small that you can't even read it! And it's cumbersome to see what's on next.
I second the quality on the Zenith. A year ago or so Consumer Reports evaluated the digital converters and the Zenith came out #1. We used our two coupons to get Zeniths. We went from getting 5 stations o.k. to getting about 30, clear & crisp pictures. Instead of 1 PBS station we now get about 8, one of which is just for kids which our daughter loves.

Anyway, there are supposedly some bad converters out there. I found the CR article very helpful.

Hey guys

Here is my exp. I have been using an Apex converter from Best Buy for the past 6 months. On both of our tv's I have been using just regular rabbit ears. I live in FAR east Wilson county near Greenville. I picked up abc 11 very good. Then on the date of the flip last week....I can't find it ANYWHERE!

Luckilly for me, I can pick up abc 12 down in New Bern fine. (so screw channel 11)

But I have never had trouble picking up UNC-TV. It was our strongest signal next to FOX 50 before the switch...and still is.

Here are the channels I can get With a high signal in eastern Wilson County with a cheap inside antenna

5(CBS)
7(NBC)
9(CBS)
12(ABC)
17(NBC)
22
25(UNC)
28
30
36
47
50(FOX) Perfect signal...but we could never pick this channel up period analog...lol

So things are good here. But it is strange how channel 11 just went poof all of a sudden...
