Moving to Cary-Oxford Hunt subdivision?
Anyone have any feedback on homes in the Oxford Hunt subdivision of Cary? We are looking at a rental home there. . . Actual distance to Duke University Hospital (mapquest says 30 minutes) and best way to get there. . . . Any good daycares in the area for a 15 month old?

I live right near there (At High House and Davis) AND both DH and I commute daily to Duke Univ. Hospital. Easiest way:
High House to Rt 55 (turn right onto 55)
Follow 55 about 5-6 miles (look for sign on right for Durham Freeway 147N)
Turn right onto TW Alexander Drive - straight about 1-1/2 miles
Entrance ramp for 147N on right.
Follow 147N
Exit Trent and Elba St - brings you to corner of hospital/clinics on Irwin Rd. 25-30 minute ride for us (19.4 miles) with no traffic.
AVOID Davis Dr, 540 or 40!!
Not sure where your assigned parking is......

Unsure of where my parking is going to be. . . they had said something about re-arranging the parking and having med students park at the outer most lots and pulling in some hospital staff to the closer ones. . . They mentioned the $50.00/month lot (I guess the $12.50/month lot is full). . . I start August 3rd, so plenty of time to change parking stuff. . . Are you happy living in the area? What do you do at the hospital?

I don't know much about Oxford Hunt specifically, but the general area you would be in is the single best location in the entire Triangle hands down. It has the best access to the most things, has tons of stuff within a walkable/bikeable distance and is simply the most beautifully developed area in the Triangle. That general area offers you many different commuter routes, so you can avoid traffic that people have to deal with in other parts of the Triangle. Traffic is a breeze there. It will make a great home for you.

We love living in the area! It is not only a lovely area but provides such easy travel to Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Chapel Hill etc. (close to Rt 55, 540 and 40). There is such a wide variety of restaurants/shopping in close proximity - Beaver Creek in Apex, Brier Creek in N. Raleigh, Streets of Southpoint in Durham, all within 10-15 minutes. 10 additional minutes of travel will take you to Cameron Village and North Hills in Raleigh.
I'm a nurse practitioner at Duke, husband is an RN. Good luck on your move! As a fellow New Englander, I'm sure you will really enjoy living here.
And Bond Park rocks!
