NRG that is huge! We were at a local high School Baseball game last month and one descended from the sky onto the field and was quite the talk. It was the size of a small bird. Never seen a moth that big. Was a moth on steroids or at least surely chomped on some big old leaves someplace! I would say it looked like the one in your picture.
I think this is the same type. Found on my sidewalk. It was almost 7" wingtip to wingtip.Attachment 43003. There are certainly some interesting insects in the triangle.
ew....theres one right outside my door,i dont know what it is....it looks like a moth 2 me,but i cant look at it for too long(i get the super willies) eghhhh////i cant take it,im scared to go out,(ya gotta see me with my 4 year old daughter..everytime we go out or come in,i drag her and say hurry hurry..its so funny) yeah yeah im a wuss. hehe///so anywyas,its soooo big maybe about 4 inches in width,and 3 in length maybe more!!!!i want it to leave...ahhhhhhhhhh..what is it..it reminds me of the bugs from silence of the lambs!
One to add for the moth thread. I work near Jordan Lake, and this one was on the window, trying to camouflage itself with a boogie board that was on the other side of the window. Any idea what kind it is?
ive seen some crazy bugs down here since i moved, but the biggest so far was this 4-inch-long, colorful praying mantis hanging upside down by my car tonight. seriously, wtf?! i feel like i'm back in the cretaceous...
