Out here in CA I had my front door open and something flew in and disappeared behind the stove. Next day I went to water a plant and it was sitting in the pot. It was a humming bird moth, not the clear wing type, it was about 4 inches long, brown and had a tongue that looked like a humming bird beak. It died and I put it in a jar for my daughter to take to school. Surprisingly a few years ago I was going through some crap and found the jar and most of the body and wings were kinda still there, and this amazed me since my daughter is now 30.

I can handle the huge moths and butterflies, what I can't handle is the damn potato bugs (Jerusalem Cricket) out here, especially when they get inside the house. If you don't know what they look like just Google them, and step back from your screen. UGLY, creepy and a big EEEWWWWWW.

Thanks Grackle....that is exactly what it is! I looked and looked, but could not find any. It was a gorgeous moth, and I wondered what it was.
