Looking for RA doc.
I have rheumatoid arthritis and will be moving to Raleigh in a month. I am looking for a rheumatologist. Any suggestions?

Dr. Suzanne Zorn off of six fork road...her # is 919 841-9002. She has been my Rheumatologist for the past 8 years. She is awesome. She's a stickler about time though...so make sure you're not late for your appointment even if for 5 minutes. There's no long wait in the waiting room either...you get seen as soon as you walk into the door or less than 5 minutes later. She's so great that even though she does not take my new insurance, i still pay the $150.00 a visit to see her..even if I can see another Rheumatologist in my plan. Just my two cents...By the way good luck with your move. NC has the perfect weather for RA.

Thank you so much. i saw her web-page and she looks like a good doc. I am a stickler for being on time too, so that will work well for me!!!
I am so happy to move to Raleigh. The last couple of times I was there, I felt great.

No problem Snarky...Maybe when you get here we can start an RA support group...if you are into something like that.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll let you know.
BTW, I checked her website and she doesn't take my insurance. Crap!

I see her quarterly, so I don't mind paying the extra for her. I used to see her once a month, but my RA is doing so well that I only need to see her every three months. YaY!!

I've also heard excellent things about Dr. Zorn...
But I want to throw in as an option - Duke Rheumatology Clinic in Durham. Top notch! I've seen Dr. Rice, Dr. Criscione-Schreiber and Dr. Kate Mitchell (a Fellow and my personal doc.) They are wonderful. Duke is a clinic, so you have to deal with sprawling buildings, far flung parking, low brow furniture... but the trade off is to see some of the absolute top clinicians in the field - with access to cutting edge everything. Plus, they've all been warm, kind, concerned - far above my expectations (and light years ahead of some local rheumatologists I saw previously.)
So if Dr. Zorn doesn't work out, you might consider Duke.
Best of luck - and welcome to the Triangle!!

Thank you so much. I was going to look at Duke University to see if there was a clinc. I don't mind the aesthetics, so long as the docs are good.
