This past weekend my wife and I went to North Hills to catch a movie. We had some time to kill before our show and grabbed a drink at Midtown. While walking back to the Theater we passed by a place called Vivace. It had some nice outdoor seating and a cool open atmosphere at the bar. That place was really hopping! We didn't have time to grab a drink, but I was wondering if anybody else here has been there. Seems like a popular joint and a neat place to socialize on a cool summer night. We will have to go back and check it out.
I went there with hubby a couple of years ago. Seems like most people like it but hubby is a meat and potatoes kind of guy. He thought it was too fru fru for him. Food was good but expensive. We never went back.
Vivace has been on Greg Cox's list of top restaurants in Raleigh for at least the last two years. Top 25 Triangle restaurants - Arts & Living - News & Observer (http://www.newsobserver.com/2766/story/1367716.html - broken link)
It's definitely popular. We've been a couple of times. I liked it better for lunch; it is better value. The patio is very nice.
Been to Vivace and the sister "Coquette's" at North Hills. Both nice places to eat..good food but a little stingy on the portions. I agree with Uncle T that I like Frazier's and Porter's better..Porter's being my fav
Cool. Thanks for the feedback. I will check those others places out too.
Hillsborough St. is a mess right now with the redos. I'm not sure about the parking situation at the present. Maybe someone else can shed a little light on it. Just a heads up
I would park on Clark and walk down to Hillsborugh.
