Default Summer 2009: Outdoor Movies at the NC Museum of Art

Just thought I would post the link to the web page with the schedule to the outdoor films shown at the North Carolina Museum of Art. We've enjoyed them every summer since we've been here, so I thought I would share and let people know they've started a new season.

NC Museum of Art Outdoor Movies Schedule

$3.00 entry for most (I think just a couple of exceptions for viewings show indoors). However, the experience of watching the films outdoors in a picnic in the park setting with other film goers is pretty remarkable.

Don't forget to bring something to sit on (blankets, chairs, etc). And last year, they were not allowing people to bring in liquids in containers that were previously opened (including thermos, open water bottles, jugs, etc). If the liquids were sealed and unopened, they were cool about letting those liquids in (I'm guessing they don't want people bringing alcohol into the setting).

Have fun!

P.S.

The Koka Booth Amphitheater schedule also does this too.

Do you have to purchase in advance or just when you get there? Thanks for this suggestion; I've picked out 5 I'm hoping to attend!

If you are a museum member, the film viewing is free. However, you pay three bucks if you are not. And you can just show up the night of the film and pay for tickets there. There may be a way to pay for them in advance, but we've not done that as far as I know. The Museum Box Office's number is (919) 715-5923, so you can find out with them as I'm sure someone can shed some light on advanced purchase (we just wait till the night of the show since we never know what our schedule will be until last minute).

Definitely not. We just arrived back from watching "All the President's Men." A little muggy tonight, but just a pleasant night out in the park with our fellow triangle community members.

Both places appear to be continuing their events. The museum has actually added more movies this year, too. However, Gucci, you might be getting confused with the cancellation of their first film in the series, "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." It was canceled due to rain (but rescheduled to August 15, apparently).
