Thinking about AT&T U-verse
I found out from the att website this morning that U-verse is available at my new address. I currently have TWC for internet (and no TV), which I have no problem just dropping.
Any positive or negative reviews here about U-verse?

We have it a nd love it for the most part. Their DVR is awesome. We did have an issue with the picture freezing up and the audio being slightly "off" from the video. The had to come back and spent an ENTIRE day re-doing something and it seems to be fixed now.
Their customer service seems to be MUCH better that TWC. When a technician leaves, they'll give you a business card and tell you that you can call them directly on their cell phone anytime if you are still having issues. The internet connection has been fine.

Cool! What package do you have and what does it cost you?

I would advise calling several different times to see what kinds of quotes they give you (based on my previous customer experiences with them and asking about packages). You may get different answers every time. Or you may be fortunate and get a straight answer every time.
Be sure to note the name of the customer service rep, the time you called, and what he or she said. One customer rep admitted that falsification is not unusual, and that the company has been reported and had to pay hefty fines many times.

If I had the chance to jump ship from TWC, I'd take it, but I also have tv service.

There's also this that came in the mail today for $9.99 a month for Dish: Welcome to GoDish.com! Making Innovation Happen
So tempting to call and see if I can get tv from Dish and just internet from ATT U-verse.

We have the U 300 I think and I believe it's around $200 per month (TV, internet and phone). They also have rebates. We got a $250.00 rebate after 30 days of service. But their pricing is sort of like a menu, where you build your own plan, so what I pay versus what you pay might be different.

Ah. I just went online and signed up for the U200 with the 6Mbps internet service. Gonna cost me $107 per month, and I get the $250 cashback as well. I still have a crappy old tv but when I get a new TV, I'm going to need to pay an extra $10/month for the HD service. Thanks!
And TWC has been cancelled!
//edit: Got an email saying installation might take anywhere from 4-6 hours. Seriously?!!!
