What is considered the "Cleveland area" of Johnston County
Is it an area within the town of Clayton or is it part of unincorporated Johnston County? What are the boundries of the "cleveland area" and why is it called that?
After all this time I still don't know the answer to this mystery!
Thanks!

That's where my son's new house will be. He will live off Cleveland Road in the vicinity of the new school they are building. He iwill be in Clayton, but will not have town sewer, but will have town water. The tax rate is lower, as he is not in the city limits. It's very country over there. He really likes it.

The two "popular" places are the 40/42 (As it's called. It's actually I-40/Hwy. 42) intersection and the area to the west of there which is the "Cleveland" area off of Cleveland School Rd.

The unincorporated Cleveland area encompasses a small 10-mile circle around the intersection of I-40 and Highway 42.

Here is a link to the website that was made to discuss the possible future incorporation of this area:
Cleveland Area Incorporation - Home
Here is the link to the local Cleveland area forum "4042.com" thread discussing this subject:
40/42 Incorporation - 4042.com Forums
Both of these links will give some insight to the answer to the OP's question. It is a great area to live in, especially for families.
