Default Photos! North Ridge, North Raleigh

This is a great neighborhood. It's on a golf course, and the houses are all beautiful. It also has a great clubhouse with a pool, tennis courts etc.

I love looking at houses, and these are nice.

When was this subdivision started?

If I remember correctly, these homes reflect what new homes/subdivisions looked like as built in the 80's. My mother had friends on Haymarket Ln on the golf course. These were nice homes then also, however when compared with new homes today, they look far more expensive and exclusive than they actually were. I'm not knocking new homes today, as I like more detailing and front porches, etc. that give more dimensionality to today's homes. In fact these older homes might seem bland in that respect. What does everyone think?

I think they have a very traditional look-they actually look like homes in expensive areas of CT-my dh loves that traditional look and I think we will have to put this area on our list of places to look at in Raleigh!

We almost bought a home in North Ridge. The homes are beautiful from the outside but boy do they need a ton of work on the inside! I love the traditional look of them. The neighborhood is lovely. Many of them (we looked at 3 in the neighborhood) seem to have split level insides. Very 70-ish. One we were considering although it had been gutted and redone inside by an investment company, still had that split level floor plan and I couldn't get passed that!

Default Looking for a home in North Ridge today

For those of you familiar with the Northridge neighborhood you know why we are looking for a home there. Does anyone have a lead on a ranch style house available there? Not large, between 2,200 and 2,600 perhaps.

I'm with you on that one architect77. While I agree that these are VERY nice homes, the style doesn't float my boat. I realize that they are emulating a very classic architectural style, but for me they just don't have enough interesting features to catch my eye.
