Keeping the thread alive. Let's get as many of us together as possible so we can "prove the concept" - then plan more meet-ups in the future that will meet the new arrivals' timelines.

eileen (so happy to be here - but where are the box unpacking fairies I thought would come with the deal???) :-)

I'll do my best to be there! I have a committment with a local non-profit *and* it's our neighborhood's annual historic home tour, so I may be roped in to selling boxed lunches... but who knows, I'll do my best.

If I'm there, I'll wear -- what else? -- a Durham Bulls cap.

Wish I were there to help you unpack, you too Lolligrump.
It is much more fun when you are unpacking with friends and drinking ice cold champagne!!

I wish I could be there on May 5th, but I will be camping on the Pacific Ocean in the San Diego area. We are BBQ'ing carne asada and carnitas, with tons of ceviche for appetizers. Mmmmmm......

Anyone know how to lose 20 lbs or so by May 5? LOL The last time I was in NC I was told I didn't look like I am from California. Not tan, not skinny... : )

My family and I will be in the Triangle area May 1-11 and will definitely try to make it. Duh, I just thought about it, it's hubby's and my anniversary May 5. We've been married many moons, I tend to forget sometimes...

We'll try to make it. If not, you all have fun and will try to meet up with you sometime in the summer.

Welcome, OctRo05! I think you'll have little trouble finding an apartment, as most of the college graduates will be moving out in May. If you have any other questions, check the archives or feel free to create a new thread. You'll get more responses that way.

Back on topic, I'm still not sure whether I can make it! Bah!

I'm from CA too and I'm not tan or skinny, so I think we should both stick our tongues out at them and say that we avoid skin cancer and actually eat food on a regular basis.
