I might pick up my iphone next week, switching from Verizon to AT&T. How is your service in this area?

Very good overall, with some spotty areas in Chapel Hill and some of the larger shopping malls and box stores.

Enjoy the iPhone - it's a wonderful device!

I have both a Verizon (personal) and AT&T (business) phone. For me generally, I find Verizon's coverage a little better in the Triangle area overall, but AT&T's is still reasonably good. Morth of here, however, there are huge areas where I can't get any AT&T signals while Verizon seems to have me covered.

Granted I haven't traveled much outside of Cary, Apex, Morrisville, and North Raleigh since I've been here, but I can only remember one place where I didn't get coverage: in the bowels of the Triangle Aquatic Center. A little surprising given its central location, but I guess all the concrete and cinderblock is too much for it to punch through.

AT&T is fine coverage wise.

I have the iPhone and love it! I get great coverage everywhere except where I now live in Efland It still works reasonably well in these small towns though. You won't have problems in Raleigh and Durham.

I have had no issues with coverage -- it even works in the closed elevator of my work building. I mostly use it in Raleigh, WF, RTP, Morrisville.
