I have tasked with planning a fun social event this September on a Tuesday evening in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill vicinity.

I am looking for some ideas on fun places to go where you can either:
- do something
- make something
- tour something

This event will be for just ladies and the age of the attendees range from 20-60.

jello wrestling
evening hang gliding over Durham
R-rated origami
rapelling the BB&T building in Raleigh
silly walk contest
scrapbooking with M&Ms
howling contest
mountain biking in the dark
skinny dipping at Falls Lake
hair-dye party (prizes for most unusual color achieved)
who-can-jump-for-the-longest-time contest

Lots to do in the Triangle area!

It's a tough request. Most get-togethers in the evening involve food.

Why not call the NC Museum of Art and see if they have any suggestions? http://www.ncartmuseum.org/

Good luck.

How about a paint your own pottery event? Or if the group is 'young at heart', roller skating, ice skating or miniature golf? And bowling is fun.

How about Go-karting or taking a class to learn pole dancing!

I've gone with groups of women to bead shops. People can select beads, make necklaces, earrings etc. It's really lots of fun for all ages.

You can make something at Ornamentea or Panopolie (same owner, different locations). They offer jewelry and other craft-making classes, and you also host a private party type event there as well. Private Parties at Ornamentea

You can take a tour of the historic Mordecai house and grounds in Raleigh, or even take a trolley tour of downtown Raleigh.
