Clay n' Latte
I was wondering if there are very many pottery painting stores out in the Triangle?? You know the ones that you go and pick out a unpainted piece of pottery, then you sit with your friends, or your church group and paint pieces?? WE have them here in Murrieta, and I love going there with girlfriends. I was thinking of maybe looking for a place to open one, if there are not many in the area.
Any thoughts??

There is one in Wake Forest (recently moved to The Factory). It's called Works of Clay. I believe Cary has one as well.

Okay, well..... I scrap that idea.
In all my visits I never saw one, but I guess I wasn't looking in the right areas.
Thanks for the info!!

Liz, the guy who owns one in our neighborhood said that they do best by video stores and pizza places. His is by both. And just because there are a few already in the triangle doesn't mean there isn't a need for another.
The one in our neighborhood is a few blocks from the middle school. I know a few girlss who spend all their baby sitting money there!
Good luck!

i am currently trying to find one in durham and there doesnt appear to be one there, or even fairly close ( i believe the one that used to be in chapel hill recently closed), so you might want to look into that area.

There is one in downtown Raleigh - Amazing Glaze, I think. www.amazinglaze.com
And maybe they have a location in Cary, too?

I just went to their site and it looks like they are closing
Liz, now's the time to start one! I think.
I vote for in or around 9th street, Durham, where you'd have students and artsy people.

Considering that 2 in the area have or are going to close recently, I would advise against it.

Here's a local business to check out -- maybe more for artists (and those wanting to be so) but it's locally-owned and I'm sure would be flexible for whatever you'd like to do!
