I was traumatized last year, seeing my first palmetto bug. Currently I've found droppings around my place, but haven't seen any bugs or mice ( even 'suprising' them at night ). These ( droppings ) are small, dark brown, mostly more blunt on one side and found under kitchen sink, near recyclables, an under the oven drawer, and now in the bathroom..in a drawer, underneath and near my toilet paper rolls that have been shredded on one side??? Is this those palmetto bugs or do you think a mouse?
Please help, I'm losing sleep over it!!

Ps...don't leave food out, etc.

Mice. Find where they are coming in. They need only a tiny place to slip in.

Buy mouse traps.

Prepare yourself NOT to have another traumatic experience when you throw the dead mice and traps away.

Or pay for an exterminator.

How small? Roach droppings are very small, almost just a speck. Mouse droppings are generally significantly larger and are more elongated.

Maybe post a pic?

But it sounds to me like mice.

Sounds like a mouse to me too, I had one that found my goody drawer at work. It could be using the toilet paper for nesting material ?

you guys are great, thanks! the droppings are DEFINITELY bigger than a speck...definitely. Plus, the shredded toilet paper....I'll take a mouse over a palmetto bug any day! Those nasty bugs scare me!And be assured a guy, or exterminator, will have to collect the mouse!

If you get a cat, the mice will move out.

Mouse droppings look kinda like dark brown uncooked rice. If it is larger, it is a rat (we have those at the beach sometimes....they nest in the dunes and love to find a way into your place come winter!)

dang...I don't know. The exterminator showed up and looked at one dropping near the recyclables and apparently decided it was palmettos. (??) My husband said all he did was put out a bunch of glue traps in hopes of catching them.
The size of the droppings was like rice...dark brown. And only one or two along the various areas ( ex. 1 was in the bathroom drawer ).
I'd get one of those humane traps for the mouse if I knew it was that, but sorry, the roaches have to be killt!

mice or a rat. We had a rat once when we were living at the beach and it was obsessed with shredding our toilet paper.
