Can any one recommend me dry cleaners in or around Cary for cleaning comforters? I am looking for a reasonably priced cleaner with satisfactory service. Also average price of dry cleaning a comforter?

I don't have any recommendations, but from what I remember the Dry Clean City place on Cary Pkwy & High House charged me 20-something $$ for our afghans..

I paid approx 35.00 for a down comforter to be dry cleaned once, then I received a tip from the dry cleaning place worker......ready....go to a laundrymat and wash the comforter....when you put it into the dryer put in 3 tennis balls. The comforter will come out perfect. Also works with any comforter. I now have a king size front loader and wash my comforters regularly using this method.

I would not recommend washing down comforters at home. It blows out motors over time because when comforters get wet they become very heavy. If you are cheap, then take it to a laundromat and do it there. Commercial washers are built to withstand heavy loads for years. I just take mine to a cleaners because I do not have to go wait with shady people at the laundromat Haha!
