It sure does seem to be raining often these days. I feel like the past two weeks it has rained almost every evening for at least 15-20 minutes between 5-7pm. My grass actually looks green in August for a change! Don't get me wrong, I am happy for the rain in light of the terrible drought we had last year. I was just wondering if this is "typical" Triangle summer weather or a fluke.

The rain is on its way right now in N. Raleigh. I can hear the low rumble of thunder in the distance. I guess therain is running a little late today being it is almost 8pm.

Welcome to summer in NC. The rainfall and temperatures we have been having this year are actually "normal" for a change. The last couple years have been exceptionally dry and hot.

It reminds me of Florida. They seem to get thunderstorms every late afternoon/early evening.

Agreed! Be glad it's more normal and that it's raining. Plus, nature waters your lawn so you don't have to do it!

Definitely a fluke. I've experienced many more dry/drought summers than I have ones like this.

This seems to be the summer weather pattern I remember for so many years growing up here in North Carolina...hot and humid days...afternoon thunderstorms cooling things down for a nice summer's night

I was thinking the same thing. You could set your watch to it in FL.
