Annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival in Cary next Saturday (August 22)
This is a pretty big event. They often get between 50K-60K people turning out. Worth checking out IMO. My advice: take advantage of the park and ride shuttle ..... and try going first thing in the morning. It can get very crowded later in the day!
33rd Annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival
Saturday, August 22, 2009
9 a.m.-5 p.m. in Downtown Cary

Juried.

Lots of beautiful things to look at (well, if I was going to be in town!).

thanks, I would love it I'm sure. I hate going to "arts and crafts shows" only to have them be kinda like church bazaar. That is why I asked the question. Being fairly new to the area the artists names are not familiar but I'm working on it now.

We went last year. It was great! Some really unusual crafts/jewelry etc. We bought a bird feeder made entirely of tool parts in the form of a large stork. Quite funky. The down side, it was extremely hot that day. Not much shade and long lines for food.

Yeah, I hear you! I've definitely been to some less than impressive crafts fairs. I think Lazy Daze is definitely worth the effort to go to - unless it's like 110 degrees that day. It will be crowded either way, though!
