+1 for Abbey Road but it's definitely not a fast-food burger. IMO, if a restaurant only serves well-done burgers, it should be eliminated from contention.

Ever waited for one? We did once at Southpoint. Not worth the wait.

Five Guys makes a tasty burger, but it's too greasy for my taste. I prefer my burger to be cooked over an open flame, not on a flat top grill (where the burger just sits in all the grease). I prefer to go to Char-Grill because the burgers are cooked over an open flame and taste like it. It's a personal preference, I know.

As for fries, Five Guys again wins on grease. The best fries from a fast food joint are the ones in In-n-Out Burger on the West Coast. I still haven't found a great french fry here in the Durham area.

BTW, in case it wasn't clear, I vote Char-Grill (but haven't tried Cookout yet)

Five Guys, hands down.

THE BEST burgers ever, haha. Char Grille and Cook Out are good, but Five Guys destroys them.

We went to Abbey Road for the first time last night. Word of warning, the burgers are obnoxiously HUGE! Their pre-cooked weight is 10 ounces. Either share a burger or order a kid burger. It was tasty, but the size really put us off.

As for fast food here, Five Guys all the way! (And Cook Out for shakes!!)

Cook Out for shakes indeed. Best shakes around hands down.

Abbey Road is good, but not great.

Yeah, their burger is way more than I want to eat in one sitting - I found it a little dry also. I like other menu offerings though, and it's definitely a fun place to go. I'm glad it's right down the street from my house!

This thread was created long before the best burger of the Triangle arrived. Without a doubt Bad Daddy has the best burger.

I like BD's, but Char Grill is still better.

I'll never get the Five Guys love. That mess is greasy.
