My family and I are going to relocate to North Carolina from California, most likely an area like Clayton, Oxford, Fuquay Varina or something with similar demographics. We are coming out in mid-May to find something. We would prefer to work with a buyer agent rather than a seller agent....does anyone have any recommendations or are there any on this forum interested in doing business??

You're going to get PLENTY of PMs after starting this thread. If I were you I'd try to hook up with a NC native. Good luck.

BB,
That's a pretty wide area you describe.

Default A little bit narrower....

Well, we are mainly looking in and around the Triangle area. We just have to get out of California - its nice but just too expensive. Gas where I live is $3.35 a gallon We drove into San Francisco last week and many stations were over $4 a gallon...ouch!!

So, thought we'd find an agent to help us first - and we prefer buyer agents.

Thanks for the info...

Of course you want a Buyer's Agent to help with your buy.
I can help you, as well as most of the other Realtors who hang out here.

Whoever you work with, best of luck! It is no small move.

Maybe Brentwood's looking for an agent who does not sell homes, but acts exclusively as a buyer's agent. Do those exist in the Triangle?

Interestingly, when two agents are involved, a Buyer's Agent is referred to as the Selling Agent, vs. the Listing Agent who represents the Owner/Sellers.

The Listing Agent markets, but the home is usually sold to Buyers who only have contact with their own agent.
So the Listing Agent's marketing and negotiation skills are as important as any Sales skill. The Buyers' Agent sells the home.

Yes there are agents who only do Buyers' Agency.
I do both Listing and Selling, since 98% of the skill set is the same. You have to know the market.

OK, rephrasing for correct vernacular:

Are there agents in the Triangle who help people buy homes, but do not list homes?
