Don't say McDonalds! Foil wrapped burgers are all I've been able to find in Triangle. Foil makes the buns soggy. I don't understand why it's so popular here. I suspect it's done to keep the burger warm, but it ruins them. Ditto for fries in enclosed to/go boxes. They need air to stay crisp. Enclosing them makes a pile of sog.

In 4 years here I have never once been served burgers or fries served in foil.

Where are you going?

Never eat at Wendy's, huh? (Although they do serve some of their value menu burgers in a waxed paper - like some McDonalds sandwiches.)

Chargrill in Durham does them this way. I made the mistake of getting it to go once. The 5 min trip home resulted in a soggy burger.

Char Grill. Cook Out. If you get their burgers as take out, they're wrapped in foil. They are not wrapped in paper.

You know, I am embarrassed to say I have never gotten a burger from either of those joints.

I like Five Guys burgers (they have great fries too) and no foil wrappers (at least when I've eaten there).

I agree, foil makes for a soggy burger and fries.

Oh, how I wish In-N-Out would open some franchises here... No foil! Great, smiling service crew! Fresh taste! Inexpensive! No soggy mess!
