Hi, We are strongly considering relocating our family to Chapel Hill/Carrboro. We are really interested in finding a historic (pre-1950s) home in a neighborhood that doesn't feel too much like a subdivision. We are hoping to spend less than $700k, though I recognize that many of the older homes are showplaces that sell for much more than that.
Alternatively we would be interested in a buildable lot of 2+ acres that would be within the Chapel Hill school district, or possibly Hillsborough (though I don't know enough about the schools). We will be making a trip later this month to explore neighborhoods and would love advice on where to look, good realtors, etc. Thank you in advance for your help.
I can't imagine you're going to find a 2+ acre buildable lot within CH for which the total cost after building will be less than $700,000. Can't help you on the other part, sorry.
You may not be able to do 2+ acres but 1.25-1.5 acres and a house is possible in your price range.
