You have to be a member or invited guest to dine there, with certain exceptions. I know my parents used to be members of Raleigh Country Club and what they did back in the 80s was switch venues. Members of the CCC played golf at RCC and just paid green fees, and members of the RCC dined at CCC for meal costs. Membership is expensive (initiation fee over $1000, with yearly dues as well), as the goal of the Club is to cater to Raleigh's upper class.

get the Company you work for to buy a Corporate Membership - that's how 90% of people get to join and eat there; very few people are so ostentacious to waste their own cash on extravagances like joining the Capital City Club
as the famous quote by Groucho Marx goes 'I wouldn't want to belong to a club that would accept me be a member'

lol ok, well i think i might have to wait a few years (decades) before i'm ready for that. there's no shortage of restaurants that are satisfied with me paying just for the meal for me to be paying for the privilege of being seen there.

I ate there a long time ago and it was an experience to remember. I have since eaten all over the US and a few places outside of US, but it rated up there. As I have said many times, you can get good food at any price point, but the dining experience is what you are paying for. Not to say you can't have a great dining experience in a less expensive place. I love any place that gives you that "Cheers" feeling when you walk in.
Anyone tried Holy Smokes on the corner of Tryon and 401? Very affordable and very cool. A shiney diner BBQ joint. Each table has a juke box on it, the food is served on butcher paper, and they have awesome brisket....man I'm getting hungry talking about it. No alcohol served there and you can get a full stomach for about $8.00. The Capital Club will give you a fine dining experience that you will take with you for many years. It will be multiple courses, you will leave with a full stomach and you will get a bill at the end of the month for just under the rent for a one bedroom apartment...LOL
