Hi All,

I have a 1st grader and a little boy getting ready to go to kindergarten. My 1st grader goes to another school close to OLL but now with the economy we are too nervous about spending 10k per child. We are looking for something more affordable.

Can anyone comment on Our Lady of Lourdes? Anyone willing to share their experience?

As much as we hate to move our 1st grader, can anyone give us insight into how the 2nd grade is there as well.

We so appreciate any insight anyone has. Thanks!

Long standing Catholic School in Raleigh - here since the 1950's. Rarely hear anything negative about the school. I moved my daughter from one Raleigh parochial school to OLL when she started middle school - best thing I ever did. Facilities not as nice as the newer parochial schools - TFS, St. Raphael, St. Michael's for example. Although the facilities for the lower grades are better than for the Middle School. Usually has a waiting list. If you're not a member, tuition will be significantly higher. Pastor actually attended OLL and Cardinal Gibbons HS so is very supportive of the school.

I went to a training there the other day, and there were a lot of teachers at it (it was to teach Sunday school). I thought that said really good things about the teachers who teach all day everyday and STILL want to volunteer their time as Sunday school teachers.
