We had Small pizza with one item delivered with a single order of wings (8 wings) and the bill came to $24.70 - close to $30.00 with tip. Does this seem outrageous to anyone else?

I never do the percentage calculation for a delevery person. I know that they work hard ... I'm sure I couldn't afford anything that the President eats ... but thats for a different thread, we usually do the frozen pizza thing but decided to treat ourselves to delivery. I think this is the most I have ever paid for a small pizza and side.

We usually take advantage of the specials being offered to get more bang for our buck, but it does get expensive.

I make my own now. For an 18" pizza it's around $6 or so w/ lots of toppings. I make everything but the sauce (I use spaghetti sauce). The best part is it's fresh, for example we use peppers and tomatoes from our garden.

On days we don't want to cook the local pizza place sells it's 18" pizzas for $10.99.

Things are just going to get more expensive in the future, the way the Fed keeps printing "money".

I know certain chains still charge fuel surcharges from back when gas was near $4/gal - Papa John's franchises being the biggest abuser of this. You may want to see what is added to your bill, but pizza ranges in price depending on where you get it delivered from, a national chain, a local shop, etc.

Most pizza places hammer you on the wings and they usually are terrible. That seems a bit more than I usually pay. I think it's about 22 bux for a large 1 topping and 8 wings, but I go pick it up. I agree making it's fun but sometimes you don't wanna do any work especially after a long day.

I think whether it depends on where you got it from. Some places use very good ingredients, etc. some places use the cheapest stuff they can get (i.e. cardboard, I think). I would pay $20.00 for REALLY GOOD QUALITY pizza and wings, particularly delivered, but not for cheap junk. That would be really expensive for cheap junky food, which I think a lot of the delivary places sell.
