Smile Triangle restaurant for adult birthday gathering

Does anyone have a suggestion for an adult birthday gathering restaurant in the Triangle? Something fun, not overly crowded, but not too stiff that we'll have to whisper for fear of nasty stares (lol). Something with good food and good music, live music would be even better. Any and all suggestions are welcomed!!

Do you mean adult as in "a bunch of grown-ups", or adult as in *wink-wink* Adult?

I don't know many restaurants that would work for the latter (without prior arrangement of a private room) and as for the former--it's harder and harder to find a restaurant where adults can get away without someone bringing a screeching toddler in there, sadly.

I like Winston's Grille in Raleigh: Winston's Grille, A Raleigh, NC Restaurant

I've been there with my husband, smaller groups, and large work groups. Everyone always left happy.

I don't remember seeing kids there (like I have at Angus Barn).

But they don't have live music.

Mellow Mushroom has a back room that's great for big groups of people. Doesn't meet your music requirement though.

For after dinner drinks we've always enjoyed Sullivans at Glenwood South. Nice live music, typically mature adults frequent the area, meaning not a bunch of 21 year olds... Nice relaxed atmosphere. One negative, it is a cigar bar, so the smoke always bothers me...but I can deal.

42nd St. Oyster bar would have descent food, good drinks, and live music.

Another option would be 518 West, then walk over to Blue Martini.

I rarely see children in the Hibernian and they usually have live music on weekends. There is also a new place in cary called Spirits Pub and Grub (new place in an older building). It's very nice and I've not seen any kids in there.
