Furnitureland South in High Point would be the first one that comes to mind.

Hickory Furniture Mart in Hickory has a great website to check for all types of furniture. I've personally dealt with Boyles and Hickory Park Furniture Galleries and they are both located within the furniture mart. Great service and prices from both, especially Boyles--saved at least 20% compared to other alleged discount furniture retailers. There are also lots of great links to the furniture lines on their website.

The Hickory outlets are pretty far if you live in the Triangle. Is there an outlet that is closer to the Triangle?

It's a 2.5 hour drive and well worth it. However, they have big sales throughout the year so it pays to be on their email list. I went in the beginning of June, some of the bargains were a chair marked down from $1600 to $400, another chair, $1200 to $299, a sofa & chair combo $3200 down to $1100, total delivery for everything was $150. I received it all within 10 days. If you're looking for quality furniture, I really don't think you can do better pricewise than HFM. I furnished our new home from top to bottom from there and saved at least $20k or more. The variety is what really attracted me initially. We went for the weekend the first time and got a package deal from Holiday Inn Select with a 10% discount card that paid for the hotel room and our expenses.

If you're only looking to furnish a room and don't want to drive over there, I'd check Boyle's first. Their website has a link to all the manufacturers they carry which should be helpful in finding what you want. They will quote prices via email or phone which will allow you to compare them with others. The items I bought from there were at least 30% less than any other retailer I checked including FLS. Delivery was also only $75 no matter how many items I ordered. I searched for the year before we moved for what I wanted online so I was familiar with prices, quality, and manufacturers. I really was able to get a lot for my money.

Good luck with your shopping.

I usually shop from mond'art Tri State Persian Rugs Store & Oriental Carpets New Jersey - the largest selection with over 30,000 hand made and machined rugs. They are even having a sale until the end of November.

FLS is great if you want to either pay cash or use their financing.

I would check out Furniture 4 Less. I just bought an awesome custom ordered leather and microfiber sofa with reversable chaise there for $599,and they do offer bundle specials....you may even be able to haggle with them, but Im too shy for that haha
