Default Silver Lake and Stonebridge subdivisons in Raleigh & Cary (MI Homes)

Just wanting to hear some reviews from people living in the Silver Lake subdivision across from Dillard Drive middle and elementary schools and also the Stonebridge subdivision at Ten Ten and Kildare. We are looking at some of the houses and wondering about the quality of the homes, the general neighborhood/traffic/walking trails (etc), and also wanting to know if there are any young couples (esp. w/babies, toddlers, kids) in the area as well.

Thanks!

I do not have any direct input on the neighborhood, but I do know that M/I Homes has decided to certify all of their new homes to Energy Star standards, so at least you will be assured of having an energy efficient home that will not cost you an arm and a leg to operate (and quality you for discounts from Progress and PSNC).

I have buyers currently building in Silver Lake. I love the n'hood and the location to EVERYTHING is great! They currently live about 2 miles from Silver Lake and love the area so much that they wanted to move close by.

I often see people walking about. My clients have a little boy, who is a CUTIE!

If you don't know...the Silver Lake amusement park will be closing. The plan is that M/I Homes is going to build townhouses over there and keep the lake open (without the toys).

M/I Homes can be somewhat difficult to deal with. Harder to negotiate than a lot of the builders I have worked with in the past.

I have clients that bought in Stonebridge because they preferred the location. They have been there about 6 months and love the neighborhood. They are a young couple.

Buyers who moved in in May spoke with me today, and they are delighted with their energy costs. No winter yet, but it was one of the last homes built prior to MI going EnergyStar on all homes.

LOL. I had clients that bought in Stonebridge and they really like that location. I was a bit bothered by the feeling of being "in the shopping center" but I have come to realize that some folks LIKE to walk and appreciate those things being close. Pretty neighborhood, great Southern Cary location.

Silver Lakes HOA dues tend to be a bit high as the homeowner's pay to maintain their little "pond" within the n'hood.
