How much do you pay for electric, gas, water, etc. for a 2,500-3,000 sq. foot home in Raleigh? In Cary?

Details about your house and/or bills are appreciated!

Our house is about 3,000 square feet and was built 30 years ago. We have a mix of Energy Star and older, less efficient appliances. We're all electric and our average bill is about $300 per month. Our highest bill was $590 last Winter (very cold and very unusual) and our lowest was about $180 which we've hit a few times.

Where we moved from our balanced bill was $540 per month for gas and electric for a house that was about 300 square feet smaller.

Either. We are in the market to buy and are looking at older homes as well as new construction.

Thanks for the input. What year was the smaller home built? Was it also in this area?

Same numbers here. The electricity is the high for the summer with ac. I have never been higher than the $120's to cool and power my house.

First house was about the same age but it stands in the Northeast far away from here.

We have a 2700 sq ft home in Clayton (built in 2007), outside city limits. We have well water, so no water bill. We use propane for stove, dryer, fireplace and BBQ.

Avg electric is $150 per month (AC set at 72 down/74 upstairs - Heat set at 68 in winter)
About $20 per month for propane
About $30 per month for Garbage pickup
