I used to live in Five Points for 2 years and the biggest concern that Five Points has for any innovation is going to be to silence all the NIMBY's that live in those back neighborhoods. Every time some developer tries to come in there with a project it gets met with a storm of rage.

There actually used to be a traffic circle at Five Points and it was removed for whatever reason. One of the businesses over by the Rialto has old pictures of it inside hanging on the wall I believe. I wouldn't mind seeing a modified roundabout make a return to that intersection.

People seem to be split on the roundabout. Some store owners are very concerned about the current heavy traffic limiting pedestrian traffic, while the dwindling number of patrons prefer to have no roundabout and keep things the way they are. It's basically a case of those that love things as they are and those that look to the future. Which one will win out?
