At 12pm today Sunday 27th September a lost horse was found in our sub-division in Rougemont NC....She is a youngish Sorrel Quarterhorse Mare....

..... she has obviously been well looked after because she is a good weight and has a very sweet nature....

... She is safe at my barn and being well looked after !!.. I have done door to door at all local barns and horse keepers but so far no luck.. I have also contacted local AC and Sherrif...

...If anyone has any information please contact our local Sherrif department at...919-560-0900 or 919-560-0930

Thanks

Should also post on NC Horsenews, or take a look there and see if there are any adds or conversations regarding a lost horse.

Wow, not your everyday story. BTW I think it's a blessing she was found by someone like you. The owners will be grateful I'm sure.

We had a horse wander in our backyard one early school morning. I thought my child was trying to get out of answering a question --- you know, "Mom there's a horse in our backyard". Yeah right. But yes, it was true. We had lived in this home for about a year and never knew that the land bordering our backyard (major wooded land behind sub-division and these homes). You can see their homes when driving on the street but they are set back very far.

Good Luck!

They can push open their gate if it wasnt closed properly, or if a part of the fencing broke, or if theyre just a houdini horse. My parents found a pony walking on the side of the highway on their honeymoon...they found the owners, apparently he was an escape artist.
