Any ideas? Need some for a family event.

I checked with Whole Foods, Harris Teeter and they were out/didn't have it

I would check the farmers market in Raleigh or Hillsborough. I know the one in Hillsborough sells bison, not sure of venison. Am I spelling Hillsborough right? it looks a little strange but I'm too tired to fix it... lol.

Once upon a time the USPS tried to make all the "oroughs" into "oros" so the town would have been Hillsboro. I dunno, saving ink or something. This is what I remember from ca 1953. Later the towns sough to reclaim their history and many became "ourghs" again.

If you have any buddies that hunt, you might be able to get some. Right now we are not in main deer season (I think it is bow season, but I don't know, I don't hunt), so it is a good chance what you get might be frozen....

But if you're willing to get something that is not FDA inspected, I would ask around among your friends who might be hunters. Most are pleased to share what they kill, and glad to see it put to good use once their own needs are met.

I believe the Butcher's Market in Carboro can order it for you. Check out their website:
