Default Abbington vs Riggsbee Farm?

Any input on both comunities would be helpful. Riggsbee is looking tired and very run-down, not sure why, didn't know if anyone had any input? Also, interested in Abbington, but not sure about the highway and if it will impact future sale of neighborhood?

I have a customer that has lived there for quite some time and they love the area, schools, shopping, yard size, neighborhood, etc. The neighborhood has a good reputation and depending on where you work will probably be a deciding factor. The resale value has always been very good.

Riggsbee is a nice neighborhood also. I do know what you mean in terms of looks. It is getting older. I think it was also all built by Drees (i could be wrong) with Abbington has a few builders in there which is why you might get that feeling.

Riggsbee is attached to great schools. The new library is down the street. Stone Creek is right around the corner with Harris Teeter. You can still drive to all the shopping at Beaver Creek. Closer to Abbington but not a far drive from Riggsbee.

I personally like the Riggsbee area better because the Preston Corners area and the stretch of High House and Cary Parkway in Preston is very nice. More of a residential feel. There is a back entrance off of Abbington that is more residential than 64. I don't know which specific section you are looking at but beware that 540 will be coming around Abbington in the future.

I think Alan Zaring built Riggsbee Farm.
Zaring Homes, Inc.
Now defunct, I believe.

If you look at the deeds on the county's website, it looks like Zaring sold some of the lots to Drees.

I dug deeper.
U R Right.
Sort of...

Zaring went bust and never emerged from Chapter 11.
Sold all assets to Drees.

I love the location of Rigsbee Farms - great area by High House and Davis, Stone Creek shopping, close to Preston corners, Bond Park. Great schools.

While Abbington is nice, I hate that the entrance is directly off of a major highway.

Abbington also has an entrance off Kelly Rd. that takes you through the earlier phases of the subdivision.
