Hi everyone!
My community is looking into providing an unleashed dog park. I was just wondering if anyone else has one in their community, and what steps they had to take to start it. For example, is there a rule on how big it has to be, what kind of grass/mulch has to be used, who do we contact on the town board, etc.
We are located in Johnston county and it will be just for our community members.
Thanks for any feedback/suggestions. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
There was a thread about this a few months ago about whether it would be allowed per the HOA. I think it's a great idea, I'd go for it.
I think so too. Since so many people don't have a fenced in back yard, this is a great opportunity to get their dog to socialize and exercise. I'm really excited about this project.
I wish apartment complexes that are pet-friendly would have a fenced in area for dogs....but I guess it's just one more thing on their list to maintain....I just drive 20min north up to Millbrook Exchange Park for my dog to get some energy out....though she usually just stands there and does nothing, and then gets all hyper the minute we get back to my apartment...ugh, I dont think she understands the concept. hahaha

Actually, some of them do! Some of them in the Apex/Cary area we looked at have fenced in dog areas, which definitely factored into our decision when we were looking last weekend.
