Default Community Sewer & Water

Looking to get some basic information on community sewer & water systems for neighborhoods. What are the benefits and typical monthly costs of this type of setup? Any information would be helpful....thanks.

We have community water and individual septic (which I think is the norm). We have been on city water, and now community water. For us, aqua north carolina takes care of the water and actually owns the well, so they charge us for use of water (but it seems like we pay very little). It was nice for us because our neighborhood (which is new) had problems with water (not enough water) and aqua had to take care of the problem and pay for it (by joining another communities well, so it was a 300k job). So, they do all of the maintenance and testing of the water and take care of the problems. Seems like a win win to me.

As far as septic goes, in the part of the county I am in, that is standard. each homeowner is responsible for maintaining their own septic tanks, we havne't had any problems but like I said, we have only been in the house two years
