Pittsboro- What is it like?
Hi. I may be moving to Pittsboro (sorry I forgot the s in Pittsboro on the thread title but it won't let me correct) next year and was wondering what the town was like. I have never been there but am aware it is a small town and I wanted to know if it has a small town vibe all it's own or if it has a culture similar to Raleigh. Also, if anyone can tell me what industries are there I would greatly appreciate it.

Industries? Umm, agriculture ....
It's a small town all its own, not at all like Raleigh. It has a nice little downtown area with an eclectic mix of shops and boutiques.
Chapel Hill isn't too far away - about 15-20 minutes from the center of Pittsboro.

I think you need to visit Pittsboro for yourself and get a sense of its location, how it relates to the Raleigh-Durham-Cary-Chapel Hill area, what it offers, etc. Your questions suggest you may be looking for too much from a small, somewhat remote, largely rural town.

I live in Pittsboro. I go to Chapel Hill or Raleigh for pretty much everything. The Carnivore Preservation Trust is in Pittsboro, though, and it's pretty cool. And Chatham County Habitat builds in a neighborhood out here. Overall, though, it's a small town and there ain't a whole lot to it :-)

I've lived in large cities and small towns (as small as 6500 residents). Just trying to get a sense for what is there and what isn't. What requires a ride in the city, etc. And most of the small towns I've lived in or visited had some type of restaurant, a bar and some annual festivals.
