According to a popular travel advisory website, most reviews say to stay away. They reviewed the Raleigh and Cary hotels and said the same about both.

I do think those websites are a lot like apartment reviews, though. Most times people only write when something bad happens, but not about all the great stays they have. I can't say though, as I've never stayed there.

There were several reviews that sounded legit.

I've had clients stay in them but not recently so I don't know if anything has changed but my clients were satisfied. I don't remember which one they stayed in, though.

I stayed there several months ago when I was relocating. Really couldn't beat the price, the place is a big aged but i didn't mind. If you want a more modern version there are a couple of more around town

When my wife and I visited the Raleigh area in July, our friends stayed at the one in Cary and they said that their room/accomodations were pretty good. They had a little kitchen and a small dining table in addition to the usual hotel items. They were within walking distance to a supermarket and they felt safe walking at night through the area.
