My husband and I are both corrections officers in NC and while he is assigned to the 6am-6pm shift, I was assigned to the 6pm-6am shift. We work at different prisons and we have the same days off. However on the days that he goes into work, he has to be there by 5:45 am and I will already be at work due to the fact that I don't get off until 6am. We have a three year old and a 11 month old and while we are certain that we are sending them to day care on the days we work, we don't know what to do about care for them when he has to go in and I am already at work. As it stands no one can watch them from 5:30 am until about 7am. Are there any day cares in Raleigh that accomodate for parents that have to work early or do we need to hire someone to sit with them until I can get home and take them to school? I wouldn't be able to change my shift until after I have been there for a few months as shift changes are on a first come first serve basis.
You can also put an ad on care dot com. Maybe a college kid is looking for just a few hours in the morning before their classes. You will get responses from college kids, SAHM's and professional nannies.
