I was helping my church remodel the old Beyond Fitness space on Buck Jones earlier this year and right next store is Hotpoint Cafe (sometimes called Hotpoint Deli). Not to be confused with Hot Point Cafe in North Raleigh.

It had been many years since I had eaten there and it was now under new ownership. The old owners operate Maximillians in Cary. It was too convenient not to try out again.

It doesn't look like a lot on the outside and the inside is marginally better. Some might even refer to it as a charming hole-in-the-wall sort of place.

Every time I ate there I was taken aback. How could the food be that good, that generous and that reasonable?

In the last 6 months I think I've tried about 30 items on the menu -- every one of them tantalizing in their own way. They are well known for their gourmet pizzas but make sure to try out their brick sized burritos or even turn any pizza into a gigantic calzone. The sandwiches are stacked higher than your fist.

Be warned, when you order a glass of wine, you actually get two because the wine goblets are huge and they are generous with the pouring. You might be too tipsy to drive home...

Part of me hates to let out my "secret" but its so good, its worth sharing.

The only downside is that its quite small. When the weather is nice, the outdoor patio is wonderful. But when the weather is iffy, then you have to compete for the 10 inside tables.

When you go, tell Anthony that Shane sent you. And when you go, he just might point me out.

Hotpoint Deli

Thanks for the suggestion. I live in CH but have family visiting next week. We will take this in while touring the area!

The Hotpoint in North Hills is owned by the same people, I think.

Thanks again.. I love North Hills. It has easy walking access for our elderly parents as well. Look forward to it!
