Stay away from BB&T. Tooo bad you can't go to SECU; it's really great. Maybe another credit union would be good, but I don't know about the ones open to everyone.

Ditto on the Coastal Federal CU. There's also Truliant CU but I don't know what their membership requirements are - may be open to anyone like Coastal.

I have belonged to both Coastal and SECU (State employees) for many years. In my experience, SECU is far superior to Coastal -- better rates on deposits, customer service, and general attitude toward its members.
