capt chill, what time are you planning on getting there? i am a bit nervous about parking and getting to the line on time!
I still have no idea, I am going to the expo to register on saturday. I had a bad fall off a railing two weeks ago and hoping the shin is a go. Looks as though it will be. I am going to be dropped off so I figure even if I get dropped a 1/2 mile away I will just jog over to the start. I am heading over there tomorrow to get the lay of the land. 7am start but remember we move the clocks back that night before so you will have an extra hour early. 5:30- 6am from Fuquay gives me a hour before the start.
You are a brave man capt chill. Trying for a BQ at the City of Oaks will take some guts. Have you run the race before? If you do your training runs around here than you are probably familiar with the Umstead hills. Saving Umstead for the 2nd half of the race sounds like a cruel joke to me.
I'll be doing the half and plan to hang with the 1:50 pace group. Unfortunately for you, there are no pace groups for the marathon less than 4:00.
Parking shouldn't be a problem from what I've heard. Plenty of parking on the Centenial Campus.
Have a great race, Capt Chill. Boston Marathon is definitely worth The Wall and the pain of running a qualifying time. Ran Boston in '07 and I don't think it's possible to "over-rate" that race. It's awesome. Before that; here's hoping Oaks is an awesome experience for you. Have a good race. Mike
