I was trying to find a place with a good selection of doughnuts in Cary or Apex. I found a place online called Sweet Traditions Bakery ( in Cary ) and the reviews said they had huge doughnuts!

Doesn't have to be a bakery just a store that has good selections and if they are super sized that is ok as well

Thanks!

The only good donut place in the triangle is Krispy Kreme in downtown Raleigh. Yum!!

I am a big Krispy Kreme fan, but I do wish they still had Daylight Donuts in Brier Creek. That place was a nice alternative and had great specialty donuts. Krispy Kreme has the best plain glazed donut. It's like biting into a fluffy cloud.

Agreed! I only eat Krispy Kreme or Britt's from Carolina Beach!

The Cook Out on Walnut Street was built as a KK. I remember how quickly it went up as they dropped a trailer in place and only had to do the finishing work.

When they closed, I heard the reason was they did too much business there and there was not enough real estate to expand. I hope that was not the real reason, as it doesn't seem to make sense.

Sadly, Sweet Traditions closed and is now a cigar shop.

Harris Teeter recently changed their doughnuts and they are big and yummy. Decent variety. When we first moved here, they made their own doughnuts, but then switched to Krispy Kreme. I think they may be back to baking their own again.

There's also several Dunkin Donuts in the area with good variety (and great coffee!).

There's still a Daylight Donuts in Cary. At least I'm assuming it's still open since I just drive by the place. It's near the corner of High House and Maynard.

I may be in the minority, but I like dunkin donuts better than KK . I know there are dunkin donuts locations on 55/highouse and Davis Drive/Morrisville Carpenter. I am pretty sure they can make specialty donuts (or at least specialty decorated donuts) for you there.
