hahaha, i was thinking that actually. well i appreciate the advice, even if i don't have any for you. i need to "spread some rep points around before giving you any more" apparently. we're up for some walking. we were trying to find some hiking around here, but i kept finding like official NC parks, etc. links that didn't really work. oh well, i think the zoo thing will be fun even if we see no animals. we were also trying to do that 902 drive back to pittsboro, maybe grab a beer and dinner. i guess i did ok with my shot in the dark adventure gleaned from google.
just to be even minimally helpful... UNC is having an exhibition game tonight we're going to, doesn't count but only 10 bucks. my wife is in some diabetes walk tomorrow morning. that's not really what people think of for "outdoorsy" but it is outdoors!
ok im done

Wow...Susanna Hoffs...blast from the past...might have to check that out.
Saturday is a tough one for me - I have visitors coming in during the day so I want to take them somehwere interesting. Problem is, I also have twin 3-year-old boys who will be tagging along...
That is why I was thinking of just wandering around somewhere...an historic downtown...a hip shopping district...a college campus perhaps (I always loved walking around the Princeton campus when in NJ)...

LONGISLAND, Hillsborough has a great historic downtown. You and Gucci can hike the Eno and tour downtown Hillsborough!
www.historichillsborough.org
From Eno River on Cole Mill Rd. or Pleasant Green Rd. you can take St. Mary's Rd. all the way into downtown Hillsborough. It's a pretty drive.

These are not "events" but are things to do here year-round.
The walking paths around the NC Museum of Art including the walkway over the beltline onto the Meredith campus.
The NC Museum of Life and Science in Durham - Butterfly house - bears - wolves - lemurs - the dinosaur walk - lots to do for kids and adults.
Just a walk around Lake Johnson in Raleigh - rent a jon boat (with electric motor) or a paddle boat.
Explore the Duke campus - the chapel - Duke Gardens

Anything going on in downtown Raleigh this weekend that isn't art related?
