Default Wedding Reception Venues / Clubhouses in Durham or Morrisville?

Hi I’m looking to rent a place for a wedding reception that’s big enough to fit 125 people (I’m actually just having 75 people, but I’d like to have enough room for the buffet tables and a dance floor, plus I’d like a spacious feel to it). Any ideas?

My requirements are:
  • Won’t cost more than $750 to rent the whole day. Rent per hour is also good, as long as we’re allowed to rent between 3pm-11pm and the total rent doesn’t come up to more than $750.
  • Allows outside caterers and a DJ.
  • Allows caterer to serve beer and wine
  • Has windows (hate the hotel banquet room look where it’s just beige walls on every side)
  • Has to be in Durham or Morrisville
My preferences are (don’t have to be there, but they’d be nice)!
  • Wood floors
  • Has tables and chairs with the rental
  • A deck
Because of price constraints, I’ve been looking more at community clubhouses like Woodcroft and Hope Valley Farms. Woodcroft forces you to buy alcohol from them though. Hope Valley Farms’ clubhouse looks nice and we’ll check it out, but I wouldn’t mind better options. I also like the photos of the Five Oaks clubhouse on their site, but it looks like they only rent to members…

I’ve also looked at the Durham Arts Council and the HaytiHeritageCenter but they’re too small… and Spruce Pine Lodge is too far from our church…

Would really appreciate your suggestions

We had our wedding at Bay 7 at The American Tobacco Campus beside the Durham Bulls Park. It was awesome. We were able to bring our own lights, food, music, and alcohol.

Well, Spruce Pine Lodge is exactly what you are looking for. We had our wedding there with 100 people, and attended another of similar size. If you haven't driven up there yet, I'd keep an open mind about the distance and go check it out.

Try Grove Park's clubhouse. It overlooks the lake. I don't think they provide tabes and chairs though. They have some but not that many.

If you haven't found what you are looking for, you might check out Connections Event Center. It is right off the I-40 in the Cary Crossroads area. I think it offers everything else you were looking for.
