Arrow Inexpensive Hotels in Durham.......

Hello, can anyone help me with any inexpensive hotels in Durham. I plan on staying for a few days, in the area of East Main Street. Any info is gladly appreciated. Thanks....

If you have a car, most any hotel you pull up on expedia in Durham will be within 15 min of Downtown. The Red Roof Inn on 15-501 is cheap and safe. There's a couple hotels up on Guess Rd that will be closer to down town but I can't vouch for them.

If you won't have a car, the best bet is likely the Brookwood Inn, which is right across the street from the Duke hospitals. This puts you within a long (30 min) walk of downtown, and is on a bus line that goes straight downtown as well. We get rates for visitors of $75 there.

The phrase "Inexpensive Hotels in Durham" makes me nervous.

I've stayed at the Red Roof Inn (it's in Chapel Hill BTW) and while it's safe, it isn't very nice. I'd rate it borderline decent.

Default Inexpensive Motel

Hi, if you are planning mainly to check out the area and basically need a place to sleep, shower, and maybe watch some tv, then the Red Roof Inn will fit those needs. I have stayed there in the past 6 months and I would rate it as basic but fine. There was some road construction going on when I was there, but it didn't affect my stay. I believe there is also a Waffle House close to the Red Roof Inn if you like WH for breakfast. Hope this helps.
