Anyone else with an AT&T smart phone experiencing a data outage today? Phone service seems to be fine, although data's not working. Just curious whether this is a local Triangle thing or whether anyone's heard anything. Getting through to AT&T isn't quick...

I'm experiencing the same problem. Phone works well, I just cannot connect to the internet. Email does work, I just received one.

This is the msg posted on their website:

Same thing here in Cary and Durham. 5 bars but no 3G or Edge symbol (and no data connectivity)

Yes, no signal in 3G, AT&T stinks! They would have long ago been bankrupt if not for the exclusive rights to Iphone

Huh?

AT&T with NET income (that's profit) of over $10,000,000,000 (that's 10 Billion dollars) would be bankrupt if it wasn't for the iPhone?

If the iPhone never existed it wouldn't effect AT&T's bottom line even one percent.

Came back on about the same time for me as for T|K. (Ironically, it started working immediately after I got off the phone with AT&T asking about it.) 3G was out, but Edge worked the entire time, though.

Working again for me now. My wife has a Blackberry with only EDGE, and she didn't have any problems this morning. Glad to hear it wasn't just my iPhone!

AT&T normally works fine for me here in the Triangle, but it's terrible when traveling. In rural areas it's spotty at best! Lately, I've been doing a lot more traveling to NYC, and even in Manhattan the number of dropped calls is absurd!!!

Once iPhone goes to Verizon, I'll almost certainly switch. If it doesn't, I might be looking into other devices when my contract is up...
