No, not that kind of smoking. Wife wants to try it this year when we smoke the turkey, but I have no idea where to get it. Lowe's and HD have hickory, and that's about it. If anyone knows of a source, I would be ever so grateful.

Surprisingly Loews supermarket has had apple chips not chunks. Harris Teeter may have also. Try calling a local Ace hardware and see if they have in stock. You can get mail order but you probably don't have the time. The Ace Hardware in Cary may have. I still have a bag of chips that I think I got at Loew's supermarket. If they sell lump charcoal they may have apple wood.

I do a little smoking. The best luck I have had is more or less hickory chips soaked in apple juice. Hope your turkey was good.

You can always use a drip pan with apple juice in it while smoking.

That's what I do. I'll be smoking a brisket next weekend using apple juice in the pan.

I have a CharGriller Pro. I've done some small mods to help it cook better. this is my second CG. The first one the legs rusted out. I picked it up at Lowes for $50. A customer returned it because the warming rack was busted. I threw the rack away.
