I was wondering in the Cary,Apex area on a 200 to 250k house what would the taxes be and also the insurance a year. Car insurance per year prices would be great, We are thinking of moving but first would like some ball park prices. Here in Florida it is out of control with 2 cars about 4k a year and house ins and taxes about 12k a year for a house 450 to 500k.. Thanks

You can go to that wakegov.com site, and look up homes previous tax bills.. just go onto a realtor's site, look up a home close to the amount you want to spend, in the area you want to live, then just enter in the street and house number, and it will show you what their previous taxes for the year were good luck.

For auto and home insurance you should contact an insurance agent that can write policies in NC. Which is probably any large company or broker. Ideally you'd compare the prices from your current provider with their priced in NC to get an idea of the price differential.

Be SURE to get auto ins quotes from other insurance companies outside your current one! We were paying $2000/year for 2 cars in NJ (wow, FL is high) and when we moved wanted to stick with our company. They gave us a quote of about the same we were paying in NJ! So I called around and got some local quotes......and they were all HALF of what we were paying in NJ!! Yep, its $1,000/year for 2 cars. Geico was the cheapest I found but the local Allstate was close.
