Don't worry, I'm sure he's being kept nice, warm, and cozy and probably in no hurry to get home.

Wow! We got nothing like that in N Raleigh. Has stopped already too. I would have liked a little more, long as the roads are OK that is.

Having lived in Raleigh for almost 32 years I can note that the weather-predicting local folks have progressively gotten worse over the years. I believe they rely to heavily on computer programs and have actually forgotten or don't know how to study weather patterns and make a true prediction. It usually holds true if snow is predicted we will get nothing to very little. When they say it should mostly be rain or don't predict anything at all we end up with a closed city.
I also like it when the roads are bad. This is about the only time I can feel safe driving on the roads. Most of the bad drivers have stayed at home because their car is now in the ditch in their front yard. The other drivers who managed to get out of their driveway are now crashed in a ditch halfway to the mall.

well heavy rain and 36 degrees here in southern wake county. well the rain snow line is west and north of the triangle. Still not a bad call about this storm. I made it early tuesday.

Be glad you did not have to drive to baltimore this evening. Its real nasty up I95/I85 the past 3 hours. Just talked to a friend trying to drive it. Hotel is in their future near Richmond I think.

Not a bad call? You posted that RDU would get to 3-8" of snow, and got everyone all riled up!

Yep, you got me here. BUT the 3 inch area is around Burlington and then north, not too far from the triangle!

We were supposed to make a drive from the Triangle up to northern WV tonight, but decided to head up yesterday instead when things started to look dicey for today. Sounds like we made a good decision.

Snowing lightly here in WV now, with 6-10" possible by morning. But we don't care...we've got nowhere to go.

We had quite a bit of snow last night in NW Raleigh here in the Brier Creek neighborhood. There was nothing around 5pm and then about 1" or more around 7pm. It's been raining all night and there is still some snow left on the ground. I really wish I had taken a picture last night. It was very pretty seeing all the snow. The kids across the street were out playing in it. I made a few snowballs myself.

Some light snow falling in NW Raleigh again, that Mother Nature person certainly likes to play around ...

We've talked to some friends in the DC area, looks like they're in the middle of a real live blizzard with maybe 20+ inches of total snowfall. The irony of that kind of storm in DC *before* winter officially starts and the President returns from Copenhagen discussing global warming was not lost on them.

It flurried for about 10 mins here in N Raleigh just now.

Most of the snow is already melted. What a dud.
